Two Days After Christmas

It’s two days after Christmas
And all through the places
The knitters were relaxing
A satisfied look on their faces.
The projects were done
The holiday past
It was here and then gone
Remarkably fast.
Some projects still hung
On their needles half done
But for the most part
Our battles were won.
We knit and we purled
Some of us cabled
Then wrapped it all up
Each present labeled.
For Mom and for Dad
For Sis or for Son
Whoever it went to
Just thank god it’s done!
And a vow was made then
Heard by those near
“I do solemnly swear
I’ll start earlier next year!”
