Well, It Didn't Rain Flaming Dust Bunnies From Venus

Yeah, that was on my list of things that might happen yesterday when Mr. And Mrs. Peeve came in from Australia to visit.

What did happen was a great day. They are two of the NICEST people I've had the pleasure of meeting in a long time. There was no awkward silences, no laggs in conversation. To quote Peeve "I think you could count on one hand the number of times none of us were talking."

They were good sports when I got lost on my way to their hotel, assuring me that it was a nice tour of the countryside. We had a nice lunch at Panera and then headed to the yarn store.

I'd always been a little sad that I didn't have a knitting obsessed friend to go to shopping with. There was never that drunk-off-the-wool-fumes mania that only other knitters can induce.

Now I'm thinking that's how I always restrained from going completely nuts.

In addition to my purchases, the amazingly generous Peeve brought me a skein of Australian yarn (the fabulous purple and orange skein) and insisted on buying me yet more yarn in the form of Koigu and the gorgeous Anne Schaefer sock yarn. The Koigu was a sneaky little bit of work on her part. She was perusing the selection and kept showing me skeins and, me loving blues, assured her that those two hanks were GORGEOUS. Fast forward to us leaving the store (we were in there forEVER)and Peeve handed me them as a gift. (Side note: If you ever want to get her a gift, Koigu is really hard to find in Australia)

We got lost looking for a Post Office to mail her purchases back home. The Post Office that was marked with a huge white banner that we all agree was taken down when we walked past. They knew we were coming, that's the only explanation how three sets of eyes didn't see it.

We hung out at Borders Cafe and knit and talked and drank yummy beverages until dinner, then it was time for the hockey game.

What a blast! I popped both their hockey cherries yesterday. They were enthusiastic and cheered with the best of them. Of course the Wolves played like crap, that was to be expected, but we still had a great time.

Thanks so much for spending the day with me you guys! I had an absolute blast.
