Harlot Sighting!

The Yarn Harlot came to town last night. The Illinois knitters really represented.

While we were all chatting a woman went up to the waiting microphone and suggested that we do a show and tell of projects. It was hilarious to listen to the different sounds that people made. There was much applause for anyone knitting their first sock and demands of "what yarn!" when they forgot to tell.

Then Stephanie came out...

She talked for a long time, longer than I was expecting actually, and then the line for the book signing formed. I was way at the back so I didn't get out of the book store until 10:30.

I brought her a beaded shawl pin, matching bracelet and a fun bookmark that I made her. She said she needed a shawl pin and loved book marks, so I think it went over well. She asked who I was and I said Kelly. She asked 'Just Kelly?' and I said 'Just A Knit Wit Kelly.' and then my brain exploded. Because she said "Oh, you're that Kelly?"

She'd read my blog.

I guess I went either really pale or really red, cause the woman in line next to me patted my arm and said "It's ok, breathe..." while Stephanie patiently explained the you-read-mine-I-read-yours exchange of blogs.

My brain still hasn't wrapped around it.

Awesome! Stephanie reads your blog! That is so cool.

It's fun that the group was sharing projects. We did not do that in Cleveland, it's a great idea. I love to see what other people are working on.

Glad you had fun with Steph. Where does she find time to do any blog reading?

Hee. I said, Hey Stephanie, I'm from Knit Think! And she just smiled blankly. Guess I'm not of your caliber!

That seems to be everyone's reaction when they find out that she has read their blog. Too funny.
