So yeah, I was plodding along very well with the cardigan for mummy's birthday. In fact, I nearly had the back done in just 3 days of work. I knew it was too good to be true...
See... me and gauge swatches, we don't mix. And I was using the needles assigned in the pattern and a mere ten rows away from finishing off the back I whip out the measuring tape to check the back. 25 inches long, with ten rows to go. Pattern says it should be 22 inches when fully finished. So I have to.... I have to...
WAH!!!! I don't wanna frog it! The stitches are so neat and even! Two and then some skeins knitted up and I have to... I have to...
*sob* *choke* *whimper* *wail* *whine*
I may have to give it to someone else to pull out. I don't know if I have the strength to... to...
*sniffle sniffle*
Fellow knitters, give me strength. To frog, to rewind, to begin again.

Uh, yeah, me and Mr. Gauge Swatch aren't real good pals, either, but for something like a sweater, it's hard to get it right without doing the swatch first. Go ahead and rip it. First of all, you won't love it if you don't, and you'll learn a lot during the process, even through the tears. :-)
