So Tell Me....

Tell me, please, am I the ONLY one? Do I attract the weirdos? Am I alone in this little adventure? Or is this common, am I part of a group, am I whining about something as common as traffic and rising gas prices?

WHY do people attack me about my knitting? WHY do they have to talk about all the negative things that, in their minds, are attached to the art? WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY?!?!?!?!?

Remember me talking about the randomness at work? The talk of deformed hands and negative consequences of knitting? It’s happening again! But not at work.

A certain someone in my family who shall remain nameless but will, should they read this, know exactly who they are and probably raise hell for my writing about it, is standing in my bedroom while I’m proudly showing off my first pair of socks.

“Oh they’re cute. But you know… you’ll probably end up with carpal tunnel in your hands from doing that.”

What the *BEEP*?!? Why the *BEEP* would you tell someone that *BEEPING* knitting a *BEEPING* pair of *BEEPING* socks will give you *BEEPING* carpal tunnel syndrome!?!?!?!?!? Of all the *BEEPING* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP* things to say to someone!

So tell me… am I the only one?

Woah. Um, what's wrong with just sharing your excitement and having that compliment untinged by negativity?!

Alas, some people aren't able to do that. Sorry that you have to deal with that. My family is really supportive about it - and now I know how lucky I am...

What is wrong with people? I can only assume that Negative Nelly is very jealous of your ability to create lovely, wearable items with your own two hands. Kelly, be happy. Hundreds of people on the web appreciate your knitting.

Definitely not the only one, but I stopped listening long ago. As Krysia (love that name) said, JEALOUS. Makes people nasty. Ignore and continue to create beautiful things that make you happy!

Some people can only feel bigger by making others feel small!

Jealousy rears it's ugly head, me thinks!

Sad you have to deal with this at home but we don't choose our families, do we?

Knit on!!
