Casey and the little Squirt were over last night for a VERY chilling episode of Ghost Hunters that was recorded in Florida. The stuff that they captured on film… it was way creepy. A figure running above them on the spiral staircase, now and then leaning over to check if they were still there, not setting off the motion sensor light when it got to the top, a woman’s voice calling ‘help me’ in response to their questions. I had chills watching the video over and over. If you missed it this week, it’ll play again at 8/7 central on the Sci Fi channel on Wednesday. Check it out, even if you only tune in for the last 15 – 20 minutes.

I cannot believe how big Squirt is! I hadn’t seen her in two weeks and she looks like a completely different baby. She rolls onto her stomach now (then cries until you put her back on her back, then rolls over immediately again) and she seems much more alert. I have pictures, I’ll post them as soon as I get home.

Casey was looking at some of my knitting and she mentioned “You never made me that kitty hat you promised me” (I had, of course, completely forgotten that I’d promised her one) so I pulled out the Stitch n’ Bitch books and we started perusing, then I showed her Rogue online. She fell in love immediately, told me she wanted one, then, it was so cute, rather sternly said “Now, I want you to keep track of how much all the yarn and stuff costs for the hat and the sweater and the scarf and the bag, etc. because otherwise you’ll have made me all this stuff and might have spent around $100 in yarn.” I kinda laughed, I admit it, and rather casually explained to her that just making Rogue, depending on the yarn she picks out, will end up costing me near $100. It was funny to see her horror/disgust/shock at learning how expensive yarn is as I walked her through the different sorts of wool (she wants her rogue made in merino). Then she commented rather distractedly that she wanted to learn how to knit. Her birthday is this month, she is SO getting supplies from me.

So tonight I’m going to start the kitty hat for her. She wants a little touch of pink in the ears so I have to pick up some pink wool somewhere along the line. Or cheat and use acrylic, we’ll see.

I haven’t decided yet if I want to rent a movie on the way home and just stay in tonight, or head out to knitting group. Last time I went there, there was only 1 other person and she was pretty quiet. I’m rather hesitant to drive all the way to Des Plaines to sit quietly at a table, in a rather uncomfortable chair, when I could sit at home and do the same thing in a cozy chair. Plus I’m in this big ‘must spend money’ mood and going near fiber could be really dangerous.

If I stop to rent a movie, which I’m kinda leaning towards, it’ll likely be Cry Wolf and The Exorcism of Emily Rose. Casey spoke highly of them both. On Friday we will be heading out to see An American Haunting, I’m very excited about that one.

I went to the gym last night, for the first time since the 21st, and really pushed myself hard. It felt great, but I learned that the stair climber thingy is not for me. I just don’t understand the concept and it raises my heart rate too high. Maybe later on.

I hate the stairmaster too. Just can't do it!

I loved the Exorcism of Emily Rose, I really enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward to an American Haunting - you'll have to tell me how it was!

Oh, those kitty hats are CUTE. Looking forward to seeing yours.

I haven't used a stairmaster thingie, but sheesh, I can't make it to my 8th floor work area without sounding like a bellows, and that takes 5 minutes. I can't imagine prolonged stepping!

I think I tried a step master once and some sort of ski sliding machine? I prefer the treadmill that you can adjust the inclines on.

I used to walk In San Francisco all the time. Now I have to go to a gym to find a decent hill :)
