The First Sweater

I want to knit my first sweater.

I’ve been knitting for, wow, nearly 5 years now, but I’ve never done a sweater. Started 2, one for my mom that ended up getting frogged before I finished the back and one for the evil co-worker who got mad at me and told me to stop, ignoring all the hard work I’d put into it. (Both yarns have been banished to the garage until I forgive them)

But I don’t know what project to make…

Rogue?

A Weasley Sweater?

Something else?

I need a project. I’ve been in a knitting slump lately, since I went on vacation actually. I haven’t touched yarn since I got back and March is going to be a stressful month for me, I already know that. I’ll be driving 5 and a half hours down to school to have THE MEETING.

The one that will decide if I can go back or not. The one where I go to find out about student loans. Ugh, just thinking about not being able to go back makes me want to curl up in a ball and cry.

It doesn’t help that when I try to log onto the school system it says my student ID number is invalid, so I can’t access my financial information.

My tummy is all urgly… I think I need to go to the yarn shop at lunch…

How funny, I also am starting my first sweater. Technically I started it over a year ago, but then stopped working on it for so long that I forgot where I was in the pattern, so I frogged it. I contemplaterd turning the yarn into something else... and just couldn't do it. So today I recast on the stitches for Earnshaw, a pattern out of a Noro book that's a simple garter stitch sweater with a hood. We'll see how it goes this time. Good Luck with your sweater!

Ooooh, I want to knit a Rogue too! Let's go shopping for yarn when I'm in Chicago!!! Like we weren't going to anyway, but you know, now there's an excuse!

A weasley sweater .... love Harry Potter.

Good luck with school. I've got 3 in college and it's definately stressful.

I love Rogue, we could knit it together and help with any trouble spots that pop up on the way. I am dying to get mine started again, it's heading for the frog pond.
Oh, and you have too made a sweater, they have just been in mini scale. You can do this!

Oh I hope you get funding.

Rogue, so tempting. I have the pattern. So pretty. So many pages. So amazing.

Look at little Dan Radcliffe looking all young and sweet. A Weasley would be good too.

Penguing Sweaters Rock!

I'm no help.

I really hope you get your funding.
