A Meme and a survey

I was tagged for a meme for the first time ever by Lynn. (I feel like I won a popularity contest or something. You like me! You really like me! Ok, I’m done.)

Anyways, 8 random things about me:

1. Recited poetry makes me cry. Reading it can make me tear up a bit, but reading it aloud or hearing it read is nearly impossible for me. I guess it’s just the emotion in poetry (and that I’m really weird).

2. I learned to knit in one day. No kidding. My friend took me to the store to buy yarn (she let me learn with boucle yarn. Seriously, isn’t that evil?), sat me down and showed me knit and purl. I told her to put in a movie and leave me alone for a while. And I haven’t stopped knitting since. She has since accused me of stealing her knitting mojo, as once she taught me she kinda stopped altogether.

3. I broke my left arm in 4 places in first grade and the bones now form a kinda weird twist halfway up my lower arm. I can lay my palm flat on the ground and twist it completely around without lifting it up. I’ll try to get a video of it, it’s pretty crazy.

4. I can sing “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” in 3 languages. English, French and Japanese. I learned the last of these because Kari used to watch a video of Lambchop’s Playalong over and over and over and over and over. (No, there will NOT be a video of this)

5. My bra exploded at Saturday’s hockey game. It was bad. The Wolves took the puck and slammed it into the net and I jumped up to cheer and BOOM! Both straps gave way. Thank goodness they had just unhooked rather than snapping.

6. I’ve written 3 novels. And they’re all sitting in a box in my bedroom. I take them out occasionally and read them, laugh at how young I was when I wrote them and how dumb some parts are, then tuck them away again. I’ve got a fourth and possibly a fifth floating around in my head, waiting to get written down, but that cuts into knitting time.

7. I own 3 pairs of shoes. Work, Play and Sandals. Personally, I think I own too many shoes.

8. I’ll always choose salty over sweet. If you offer me a tray with slices of chocolate and slices of a pickle, I’ll take the pickle. I’d rather eat a pretzel stick than a candy bar, olives over jelly beans, crackers over cake and I’ll always take fruit over anything else.

Ok, here's that survey that everyone's got up on their blogs. Stuff in bold is stuff I've done, stuff in italics is stuff I plan to do.

Only 3 pairs of shoes?! I think I feel faint...

Just 3?? I was heartbroken when I found out all I'm allowed is lace ups and the only lace ups which aren't granny-fied are trainers. So I have three pairs of the same type of trainers plus all those shoes I can only wear on very special occasions.

Like you? I lub you!! :) I was in tears with the whole temp thing!

As for your 5th and 6th book, you should look into voice type software so you can write AND knit. :)

Aren't I brilliant?

God that makes me think of Guinness Beer now..

Oh, Lambchop! I use to love that show. Remember the song" I'm a nut"? And I agree with the others, 3 shoes???? Weirder than green milk.

I'm with you on the shoe thing. When I worked in an office I owned a ton of shoes. Once I started working at home I found that I really only wore 3 pair; teva sandals, sneakers, and clogs. So I packed up all the rest and threw them in Goodwill. Since then I've bought a pair of dress sandals and a couple more pair of sneakers but really just not into shoes anymore. Now handknit socks is another story. lol
