The First Christmas

Thank you, everyone who showered my Black Knight with praise.

Christmas with D and his family was great. I had an absolutely wonderful time.

And here he is. The first blog photos of D. Isn't he adorable?

Here he is, about to open up the black knight. I was FREAKING out. I kept worrying that he wasn't going to like it, that I had serious denial and that it was ugly, that evil gnomes had unraveled it all inside the bag. I got so teased by his dad for the Christmas themed garbage bag that the doll was wrapped in.
There was no reason for me to be so worried though. He loved it. Probably the moment that made all the work worthwhile was when I told him "Pick a limb." and he got all wide eyed and yelled out "Oh no WAY!" before jerking the arm off. It was great. Through the course of the night we kept attacking each other with limbs. Well, really I kept attacking and then he'd retaliate in defense.
Hehe, there was a Star Trek comic book in the box with this. I tease him that he's a closet Trekki because he has 3 of the movies. It drives him bonkers.

After presents we all hung out, played Scene It (girls vs boys, boys won by a fluke) and then, to my delight and D's absolute horror, his parents pulled out the family videos. I have SOOOO much ammo now.

Look at that grin with him holding the black knight. Yeah, I would say he is pleased.

Yes, you have ammo now, but be careful, young Jedi, ammo can come back and bite you...as my husband reminded me when I threatened him with all sorts of wacky things when he turned 40. I gave up all the meanest things when he reminded me that, since I'm younger than he is, he'd have lots of time to plan retaliation. Given that he turns 50 next year, I'm still keeping that threat in mind...

He's a cutie! Love the Green Lantern shirt, he really is a geek. :) I told my husband about your Black Knight doll and he thought it was so cool! Especially when I mentioned the limbs really do come off. You've a winner there!
Hmm fun family dirt..hehehe. Good stuff!

Oh you look absolutely glowy girl! He definitely loves it. I had no idea it was so big! Now be careful w/ those limbs, someone could lose an eye.

Yeah! This post makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Geek guys are the way to go! My Dave is a total geek. Agree that your D is adorable. Sounds like he really liked the Black Knight. Yeah!

Now you need one of those I (heart) my Geek t-shirts from Think Geek.
