Down on Bended Knees

All right fellow bloggers, I’m seeking your collective wisdom here.

See… I was looking back over my blog throughout the year and I realized that while I did a lot of little projects I only did 1 big one. Not very impressive and frankly I’m a little disappointed in myself.

So, new year new plan, right? Right! (Peanut gallery is NOT welcome to remind me of what happens with all my other lovely plans, thank you!)

The plan stands thusly:

Each month I will focus on 1 large project that is in some way or another related to the novel that I’ve selected for that month.

January’s novel is Lady Audley’s Secret. It’s a Victorian era sensation novel, meaning that it’s about death and murder and all sorts of things that weren’t considered acceptable to write about at the time.

February’s novel is Oliver Twist. If you haven’t heard of this book… please come back to Earth, we miss you.

February’s project is the Red Wool Peddlers Shawl from Folk Shawls.

March’s novel is Middlemarch. Another Victorian era novel. It seemed destined to be read in this month. Yes, I know I’m a dork.

March’s project is the Faroese Peaks Shawl I’m knitting for my mother.

So did you see the problem with my plan? Look carefully. Tune your attention in…. yup! I haven’t decided on a project for January yet! And January is only 4 days away! This is a rather large problem. I can’t work on a project if I haven’t decided on a project.

I’d like to steer away from a shawl. I figure 2 shawls in 3 months is more than enough. And don’t suggest a scarf. If I knit one more scarf I’ll be ready to curl up in the fetal position, whimpering and sucking my thumb.

Any suggestions are, of course, very welcome.

Please?

There’s ice cream and puppy dogs in it for you if you comment!

OK, I have an idea, but it's a little crazy, a little rebellious, (and yes, a little expensive) but it seems apropriate for the sensation novel you've chosen for January...

Dare I say it?

A cashmere sweater?

:O *gasps*

Love ya, hun!

How about Kim Hargreaves 'Elise' from "Vintage Style"? "Glamorous and a bit risque" is how they describe it.

A Corset? Seems to go with the era. Knitty had one, didn't they?
