*om*

I am much calmer. No angry posting, I promise.

Though I think it is important to say that Janis and I did have a rather long e-mail conversation and we both were able to set aside our tempers and see eye to eye. All was fixed before noon and all anger was gone well before that. My last post was just me venting my anger to no one so that I didn't direct it towards someone.

Anyways, here’s my little drama with the whole Knitting Olympics thing.

My yarn didn’t come!! I only was just told that it’s on back order and won’t get here for probably another week. ACK! So I am changing my project. Originally I was planning on doing the Rosebud scarf from Scarf Style, but now I’ve changed and I’m going to really really push myself and do the Kiri Shawl. I’m working in some KnitPicks Shadow in the Redwood color that I had lying around the house. It’s a beautiful heathered yarn and while I was swatching and trying lace for the first time last night I noticed it has beautiful streaks of deep purple here or there.

By the way… if you’ve put off buying a ball winder and a swift like I have, just hand wind 440yds of lace weight yarn. Believe me… you’ll break down and buy it. Especially when I realized that I had another 880yds to go (plus 7 skeins for 2 other shawls, and an additonal 6 coming for something else). I’m just praying it gets here before I use up the handwound ball.

I'm expecting to get a lot of it done this weekend. My mother and I are going to a women's creativity and meditation retreat tonight and we'll return Sunday. It's nice, there are group workshops and plenty of time to do whatever you like and it's just a chance to relax. I'm looking forward to sitting by the fire with my iPod playing some soft, classical music, nibbling on a snack or two, watching my Kiri grow with each moment's attention. Ah... I'm relaxed already.

Sounds like a lovely weekend! Have you listened to any of the Cast On podcasts? They're very entertaining and include some music. The latest episode of the About Time podcast contains an interview with the Yarn Harlot - Knitting Olympics are covered!

Oh, Kelly, I am jealous. I could use some retreating. I've been listening to knitting podcasts like Chris - Cast On. Great show, fun listening while in the car or while knitting.
