A few thoughts on what is shaping up to be a great day.

The only, and I do mean ONLY, good thing about migraines is that the day after I have one I feel so good.

Yesterday was a bad one. Really bad. Worse I’ve had in a few years. A coworker nearly had to drive me home because I couldn’t even lift my head for a while. But I went home, took medicine, did some aromatherapy, and by 6ish I was feeling much better. Good enough to start pulling my yarn out for my Flash Your Stash pictures.

Playing with fiber always makes me feel better. Though I have to say my stash is… pretty small. We’ll have to fix that.

Anyways, around 7 o’clock Casey, Squirt’s mommy, called me because she was home alone and was freaking about because she kept hearing noises and knives in her kitchen moved while she was out of the room. Since I was feeling better I went over to sit with her and play with Squirt.

We both went upstairs to put Squirt to bed before I left. She stretched out on her back, with her head resting on one of the blankets I’ve knit for her. As she slowly began to drift away her little hand reached up and caught some of the blanket. She pulled it to her face and nuzzled it until she fell asleep. I nearly cried. It was so sweet.

This morning I woke up early, got ready for work and stopped on the way for a nice leisurely walk around Lake Arlington. I had some wonderful Celtic music on, the breeze was crisp and the ducks were nibbling on the grass.

Even with the walk I got to work ten minutes early. As I went walking back to the break room to get my water bottle in the freezer by boss commented, very casually, “It’s so wonderful that you’re so dependable Kelly. It makes life so pleasant and much easier.”

My secret pal assured me that my last package is in the mail, the young woman I was spoiling finally received her final package from me and if the mail is as fast as I like to think it is, I should receive a box from KnitPicks today.

I’ve got my knitting ready to work on at lunch, my filing was finished yesterday, everyone is on vacation at work so it’s nice and quiet and I have wonderfully entertaining blogs to read.

It’s a good day.

Damned migraines. Tuesday was my day this week. Glad you're feeling better today and that you got in a walk! Plus there's exciting mail on the way. Happy Friday!

Glad to hear it. I was not sure mine would be good due to bad night's sleep and gloomy morning. Plus, it's the last day of the girl's Spring Break. Can't wait until next week, MY Spring Break!
But the sun came out and I haven't crashed yet. That counts for something.

How strange - both my spouse and I suffer from migraines and we have what we call "migraine hangover" for days after the actual headache clears

Glad to hear you are sounding so chipper. A walk around Lake Arlington sounds really nice. I feel inspired to go out for a walk myself later.

Good for you - taking the walk around the lake. I need to get going on something too. Hopefully, I'll get motivated reading about you.
