I got a call around noon from my grandmother that I had received a package. From Australia! It was torture, those remaining hours at work. It was all I could do to keep myself from trying to make it home during lunch.
There were so many goodies inside! And so many of them of the yarny variety!Lots of New Zealand merino wool and lace weight and candy and so many other good things.
Isn’t the lace weight beautiful? I’m sure there are a gazillion yards in there, since the ball is quite heavy.
Thanks Peeve! You made my day!!
In other news…
Just call me the Finisher baby! Finished the second Hufflepuff sock on Wednesday, then sat down and finished up.. My Ravenclaw bag for the Potter Sock Kit Swap. This is actually the second time it's been finished, since the first time I did too many decreases and it poked out on the bottom, even after it had been blocked on my very complicated block-o-maticamajig. (Otherwise known as a JAR). So after it had dried I ripped out a few decrease rows and redid it. See how nice and smooth the bottom is now? No bag-nipple here!
I decided on the Wool Peddler Shawl from Folk Shawls for that sock yarn and I’ve been cranking away at it since Wednesday. It’s not much progress, but as it’s the only thing I’m working on, it should zip right along.
