Building Traditions

As Dan and I have passed the 1 year mark, we've started considering the future. Our lives together, all of the what-if's that are included along the way, and what traditions we'd like to have with each other.

After a lot of serious discussion, some soul searching, and a bit of compromise we came to one very serious agreement.

Friday night... is pizza night.

My sweety is many things... a cook is NOT one of them. I joked with his mom this weekend that I wasn't marrying him until he took a Home Ec class.

Please note how, while I lightly dusted his face with flour, he all but dumped the bag over my head.

The perfect pizza. Half cheese, half cheese and black olive. And no, I didn't take bites out of 3 slices before the photo. Somehow, while I cut the pizza, the middle was demolished.

His pizza. A sausage and pepperoni nightmare.

The recipe, should anyone care to know, is very simple. Each pizza takes 1 box of Jiffy Pizza Dough mix, some sauce, cheese and toppings.

Preheat your oven to 425. Prepare all your toppings before you start the dough.

Pour the mix into a bowl.
Add 1/2 cup hot water and mix.
Cover and let stand for 5 minutes.
Flour your hands and surface and knead the dough a few times.
Smooth dough onto pan, working from inside out.
Put dough in oven for 2 minutes (DON'T SKIP THIS PART!!!)
Let cool for a few minutes, then add toppings.
Bake until cheese bubbles up, then let cool.
Cut with a pair of scissors. (Family tradition)
Eat. Eat. Eat.

there really is nothing more integral to a relationship than pizza night.
